Name: Robert M. N. Kariuki
Profession: Landscape Architect

Robert has over the last twenty years gained experience in the practice and teaching of landscape architecture and urban design. A graduate of the University of Guelph in Canada and a holder of two bachelor degrees — one in Housing Settlement Studies and the other in Landscape Architecture — Mr Kariuki has also pursued a Masters degree in Architecture. Robert’s historical connection to Laikipia as well as a keen interest in sustainable land use fuelled his passion to work more closely with communities in Laikipia West County.

Community Liaison Officer

IMG_6564Born and raised in Laikipia West, James Thiong’o has always had a passion for environmental issues. Before pursuing his Bachelor’s degree in environmental studies with a focus in community development from Kenyatta University, James assisted in various capacities to help the local community understand the importance for sustainable use of natural resources in order to improve their livelihoods. He also gained experience working with the Lariak Forest Conservation area project in 2014.

virginiaVirginia Wahome holds a Bachelor of Development Studies and and a Diploma in community Based Development. She has also taken a short course on Human Elephant Conflict Management. Since her school days Virginia has taken various leadership roles in the community from being a Board Member in Secondary Schools to being the Chairperson of the Laikipia County Wildlife and Conservation and Compensation Committee. She is currently the Community Liaison officer (CLO)-Laikipia West.
