Benedict Erick Omondi is an ardent and strong believer of communications for impact. In my new role, I supervise and support the Laikipia Forum’s entire suite of communications tools, activities and programs, and ensures that they complement the Forum’s goals and mandate. I am responsible for leading the Forum’s communications strategy to serve a wide variety of partners and networks.
I hold a graduate degree from Maseno University in Communications and Media Technology with IT. I previously worked for the Kenya Water and Sanitation Civil Society Network (KEWASNET) as the Communications and Advocacy Officer. I was also the Economic and Social Rights communications and digital media lead in Nairobi. I worked at the National Museums of Kenya under the Public Relations and Marketing department as the public relations and marketing officer, and at the Kenya Broadcasting Cooperation as a program continuity researcher
I consider myself a highly motivated communications and advocacy specialist with over 8 years’ experience in designing and implementing communication strategies, organizing and executing projects, as well as engaging stakeholders to achieve common objectives under the communications docket.
I see myself as a decisive leader who is able to take initiative and champion high impact strategies for progress. I have a proven track-record of leading regional projects, conceptualizing, designing and delivering community-based capacity building curricula, and managing public relations functions, with demonstrated successes in effective community education and advocacy campaigns.
