As a follow-up to a story we did in 2021, Breathing New Life into Our Association, our membership has continued to grow over the year.
The membership currently stands at 37, 12 more than we had reported at this stage last year. Our membership accommodates tourism service providers within the greater Laikipia landscape.
LTA members voted to register the association to kick start its operations. Registration would also give the association added legitimacy to potential members. Also, the association could enter into legally binding partnerships with like-minded organizations.
Due to budgetary and time constraints, the selected committee agreed to register first as a community-based organization (CBO).
The association recently received its registration certificate from the department of social services. We are still not where we would like to be. This year, the LTA aims to hit its 50-member target, grow the association’s revenue, and plan an event to bring the Laikipia Tourism Community together.
