An incredible experience that promises to give you the real taste of the true African Spirit. Home to the original safari, we will take you through sustainable tourism experiences where you will interact with the community on a one-on-one while at the same time enjoying the great heartbeat of the African wildlife.
Day 1: Nairobi
- On the first day of the tour, experience a Humanitarian project in the outskirts of Nairobi by engaging in voluntourism. Pick up at the airport in the morning and drop off at the Fairview hotel in the evening for an overnight stay.
- Dinner on own arrangement.
Day 2: Laikipia
- Breakfast at the hotel, then drive to Laikipia where you will spend the next two nights in a community-based and managed conservancy (Il Ngwesi). Here you will get to interact with the community through various activities.
- After your lunchtime arrival, you will take a nature trek in the conservancy, this would be in the evening having that you would have spent half the morning driving to the conservancy, where after the nature trek you would end up doing a sundowner. A fantastic experience learning of the various plants and local Maasai herbs while having encounters with the wildlife. Dinner and an overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 3: Laikipia
- The following day, you would have the usual morning game drive and bush breakfast. In the afternoon, the guest would then visit a local village and take in the daily activities that the community is engaged in.
- Lunch, dinner, and an overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 4: Laikipia
- Breakfast at the lodge. You will then depart the community conservancy early morning for a drive to another Sustainable, conscious conservancy, but here the conservancy would be of a private entity. On arrival, the guest would enjoy an organic lunch; followed by a walk through the conservancy’s sustainable initiatives such as visiting their farm, seeing their garden, etc. You will engage in activities such as picking your fresh vegetables that would be served during dinner or for breakfast the next morning. This would be combined with an evening game drive, which would lead to a sundowner.
- Overnight stay at El Karama Eco-Lodge.
Day 5: Laikipia
- On the last day, if you have kids, they would participate in kids’ crafts in the kiddie club or maybe bake with the chef? The adults would go out horse riding or participate in nature trekking activities.
- Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 6: Nairobi
Breakfast at the lodge. Depart for Nairobi.

Sustainability Initiatives in Nanyuki-Laikipia
Keep Her in School
Today, many girls in low-income areas, especially in rural parts of the country, face psychological and practical challenges to managing menstrual health as they have limited resources and access to sanitary products. Through our Keep Her in School Initiative, girls in 5 schools in the Nanyuki area, namely, Kalalu primary, Ndemu primary, Umande primary, Gakeu primary, and Kalalu secondary, have benefitted from a supply of sanitary towels. The beneficiaries are girls from class six to eight in the four primary schools, which serve as feeder schools to the secondary school in the area, and girls from form one to four girls in the secondary school. This initiative ensures that no girl misses classes due to a lack of sanitary towels. Over the past four years, we have noticed a trend where the girls have performed better than the boys.
We also organize health and hygiene talks in the mentioned schools to provide reliable information that prepares them for a safe and fulfilling life as they transition to adulthood.
Conservation school trips
This year we have introduced the mentioned schools to The William Holden Wildlife Foundation Education Center, which offers students a unique opportunity to experience the outdoors in a rare communication with nature often unavailable to them in their environment.
To date, two schools have managed to visit the centre, where they engaged in on-site demonstrations, lectures, and programs on the importance of conservation.
