Mount Kenya Trust has been at the forefront of safeguarding Mount Kenya and its biodiverse ecosystem through a holistic, partnership-based approach with communities and our forty-two dedicated rangers who  tirelessly protect the ecosystem, ensuring its survival for generations to come.

Engaging with local communities is at the heart of our efforts. We conduct impactful environmental education programs and monthly health clinics, addressing the needs of the people who rely on the mountain’s resources. Additionally, we have planted over one million indigenous trees to restore and preserve the delicate balance of the ecosystem.

Empowering women and nurturing young minds are essential elements of our work. We actively support women-led and school tree nurseries, providing them with the tools and knowledge to become stewards of nature. Moreover, we’ve introduced energy-saving jikos, promoting sustainable practices and reducing the pressure on the environment.
