Laikipia Tourism Association (LTA) members Moran Lounge and Grill, offer a unique form of tourism in Laikipia- nightlife tourism. Moran has remained at the top of its game in offering this tourism to residents of our landscape and beyond.
The Lounge has, without a doubt, played a part in developing Laikipia’s local economy. They have directly employed 84 staff and 30 delivery and security personnel on a casual basis. These staff members are dedicated and have curated the club’s weekly experiences by creating theme nights. This has helped them attract different audiences apart from tourists.
Every Tuesday, Moran Lounge runs The Arena Show. This platform gives youth in Laikipia an opportunity to express themselves and showcase their talents. The show is co-sponsored by East African Breweries Ltd (EABL) and has supported up to 20 individuals who have been able to showcase their talents in music and comedy.
The youth are paid for their weekly efforts, and Moran has also taken them on benchmarking trips to learn and gain exposure. On Wednesdays, Moran has Karaoke and cocktails as their theme. During these nights of fun, they have giveaways and prizes.
Thursday is dubbed crucial reggae Thursday. It is a night where fans enjoy their favourite genre while Moran also gives local entrepreneurs a chance to sell merchandise such as jackets, jumpers, scarves, wristbands et cetera.
Friday Night Experience, Luxury Saturdays and Sunday Connect culminate at the end of the week: On these days, people get to unwind after the week and enjoy great music, drinks, and food. Moran Lounge has consistently attracted the best talents and household names to treat revellers to weekend performances.
Moran Covid Dilemma
Moran has set an excellent example for many businesses in Laikipia. Moran Lounge has kept all their staff onboard despite only operating their business for limited hours and at less capacity due to government directives when Covid struck.
