Wellington Kigwa Gathungu is a conservation professional serving as an Assistant Director with the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS). He has extensive experience in wildlife conservation, protected area management, and law enforcement operations aimed at safeguarding Kenya’s biodiversity. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated strong leadership in coordinating ranger operations, addressing human–wildlife conflict, and strengthening collaboration with local communities and conservation partners.

Mr. Gathungu has contributed significantly to conservation initiatives in areas such as Laikipia County, promoting sustainable ecosystem management and wildlife protection. He remains committed to advancing conservation efforts and ensuring the long-term protection of Kenya’s wildlife heritage.
