Our efforts focus on where we can provide best value as a membership organization. This means we will nurture the role and functions of devolved wildlife conservation at the County and landscape level.
We support the formation and operations of the Community Wildlife Conservation Committees (CWCC) or similar. Twice since the new Constitution and devolution, efforts have been made to address conservation issues at County levels. We support these Committees as the instruments for wildlife conservation issues at County and landscape levels.
We support the Laikipia Conservancies Association, the regional division of the Kenya Wildlife Conservancies Association. As conservancies look to build stronger working bonds, maintain corridors and dispersal areas for wildlife, we support their efforts to play a greater role in generating public benefits.
We support greater access to Conservation Small Grants and capital development of the Mazingira Conservation Fund. This Fund will support wildlife conservation initiatives among communities and individuals in the greater Laikipia landscape.
