Never has the governance and management of the Mukogodo Forest been stronger.
The Management Committee of the Ilmamusi Community Forest Association convened for a meeting to discuss their future in April 2021. Some key issues included:
- The annual budget for the 2021 financial year and resource mobilization. The committee agreed that it was necessary to have a mutual engagement with the Ilmamusi Community Forest Association when fundraising in support of the CFA. The committee also agreed that the community forest association management should be informed of the resource mobilization and where possible, to be undertaken jointly. This is in an effort to improve the staff’s grant making ability.
- The establishment of subcommittees. The Management Committee agreed that 2 sub- committees would present their TOR’s in the next meeting. One subcommittee will form around Grazing, and the other around Resource Mobilization and Bio enterprise.
- ILMAMUSI partners and formalizing the partnerships. The management committee agreed that the resource mobilization and bio enterprises committee would develop some basic guidelines for engagement with partners. Management was instructed to draft MOUs for review and approval by the Committee.
Management Committee meetings will be held quarterly and are led by the Chair of the Committee, Wildfred Mejooli Lesit.
