With the recent installation of a new water pan acquired through support from Emu Sacco, General Waweru now has full access to adequate irrigation water for the first time in his farm.
During a recent visit to the Emu Sacco’s office, General Waweru could not hide his satisfaction on how Emu Sacco had made it so easy for him to acquire his 2-million-liter water pan.
He noted how professionally his case was dealt with saying, “As soon as I said I wanted to acquire a water pan, I was immediately connected to a technician who did the survey and cost estimates. The tedious process of purchasing the dam liner and installation was handled by the office; the installation was done in my absence at the time. The whole thing turned out exactly how I wanted.”
“Water pans like these make for a healthier community by providing water for irrigation,” said Lucy Ndungu, adding that the presence of well-lined water pans enables individual farmers to produce more crops thereby improving the economic status of their families.
“Emu Sacco is doing a great job; their products are high quality and the technician walks with you through the whole process of installation. All my questions were answered during the technicians first site survey visit. I was directed on to how to harness water from the source – a water project and roof catchment – connecting them to the water pan, and then from the water pan to the farm.”
Lucy is a beneficiary of the free dam liner installation offer run by Emu Sacco.
Lucy was linked to the purchase of apple seedlings from Nyandarua, and is currently working with the technician to establish an apple orchard in her farm.
